iPhone Backrounder is a new app for jailbroken iPhone’s that brings a much needed feature to the iPhone, the ability to run background processes on the iPhone.

Backgrounder is a Mobile Substrate-based extension to iPhone/iPod Touch’s SpringBoard application launcher that allows applications to run in the background (applications are normally terminated upon suspension).

The Backgrounder App is available for jailbroken phones through Cydia
